pull ups and HSPU Ladder

With a continuously running clock, do one pull-up and one handstand push-up the first minute, two pull-ups and two handstand push-ups the second minute, three pull-ups and three handstand push-ups the third minute... continuing as long as you are able. When you cannot complete the required number of reps for either exercise, continue only with the other as long as you are able.

I went with chest to bar pull ups and HSPU (no bands) for this WOD.   All rounds done pull ups first followed by HSPU.  I got 7 full rounds plus 4 in round 8 of HSPU.  9 full rounds plus 7 of CTB pull ups.

Total score: 16 (7+9)
Total reps: 52 ctb pull ups, 32 HSPU

Cashed out with 1 round of Gator:  5 185# front squats and 26 ring push ups (feet slightly below parallel to rings) .  Time was 3:05.  Five rounds of this would've been really hard!

HSPU and pull ups

21-18-15-12-9-6-3 of HSPU and strict pull ups

I started doing strict HSPU each round, then after I got to the point of only being able to get a single rep, switched to band assisted.  Ended up doing10,4,4,3,2,1,1 strict HSPU and 11,14,11,9,7,6,3 band assisted.

Pull ups were done until failure, then I'd switch grips and keep going.

Pull ups and HSPU

21-18-15-12-9-6 of pull ups (strict, no kipping) and HSPU

did pull ups to failure, then switched grips in the following order: palms down, left up right down, left down right up, and palms up. Did HSPU until I had 6 failures, then used 2 smaller bands (one part of top band tied in a knot) for assistance on remaining HSPU.

HSPU rounds were (strict/band assisted) 8/13, 9/9, 8/7, 11/1, 9, 6, 3

time = 28:06

Faster than last time, but used a difference approach. Last time, used parallettes and bands for most reps. This time I did them from the floor, back to the wall, getting deep enough until I could feel my hair touch the floor.

pull ups and HSPU

Pull ups (strict) and HSPU:

21-18-15-12-9-6-3

84 pull ups...84 HSPUs.

pull ups strict - no kipping, until set of 6, then kipped all of those. Used band for assistance when needed (partially in sets of 18,15,&12) to keep moving.

HSPU done on paralletes with band assistance...tried for full range of motion, it's amazing how hard even the band assisted HSPUs got very quickly. I did a few against the wall, without bands, and the last 3 sets with bands but no paralletes.

I think my shoulders and back will be sore tomorrow. I'm waiting to hear from Doc about my foot. Think I either have a deep stone bruise or stress fracture from last weeks 5k...
